Mail Saver 3.8.1

Apple's Mail works wonderfully to send and receive messages, but using it for long-term storage of email has undesirable consequences. Mail Saver solves this problem by moving messages into the Finder for long-term storage. It does this by linking mailboxes to Finder folders. When Mail Saver saves the contents of a mailbox, it copies its messages into its linked folder, then moves the original messages to Mail's Trash. The linked folders can be located anywhere you wish, such as with a project, an account or an interest group.

Mail Saver simply copies a message without doing any file conversion, thus a saved copy of a message is simply a Mail document (.emlx) file which must be opened with Mail. These saved documents may be Replied, Redirected, Forwarded, Bounced and Printed by Mail just like any other message. Saved messages also retain attachments, if present. The saved copy of a message is modified so that:
The file name is the header's subject;
The modification date is the header's Date Sent; and
The comment is the header's To: address (for sent mail) or From: address (for received mail).
This allows you to easily identify messages in a List View Finder window.

Mail Saver uses Apple's Mail as its interface and its action is determined by the mailbox selected in Mail's frontmost Viewer.

VUWER 1.2b2

VUWER (pronounced like viewer ) is an Applescript application designed to remotely track an Apple computer (e.g. your laptop) in the event that it is lost or stolen. VUWER is not foolproof, but it is reasonably secure, easy to implement, and costs nothing but a little time and effort to set up.

(1) VUWER is free of charge, open source, and relies on standard OS X commands and readily available freeware applications for installation and operation. Also, since VUWER is written in Applescript, it is relatively easy to modify or enhance in any way you choose.

(2) You are in complete control of where the captured data from your stolen laptop is sent and how it is accessed; data can be transmitted either by email or by secure file copy to another computer account.

(3) You can remotely capture screenshots, iSight images, and IP addresses from your laptop, and separately choose their respective repetition intervals.

(4) No third-party intermediary is required to track your laptop. VUWER eliminates any possibility of an unscrupulous person at a theft-recovery company snooping on you.

See http://stumpy.vuse.vanderbilt.edu/vuwer.htm for more information.

Finder Rotate Images 0.1

After looking for a while on the net, I couldn't find a way to easily rotate images in finder. So I wrote this script that allows to rotate one or more images straight from the finder window, using a keystroke shortcut or what's nicer, the multitouch trackpad of new macbooks. Just need to select the images and run the script.
In order to launch the script I use Spark (http://www.shadowlab.org), where I assign it a keyboard shortcut.
And to be able to run the script with the trackpad I use MultiClutch (http://wcrawford.org) and tell finder.app to use the same shortcut in Spark.
This is my first script. I don't have much programming knowledge, so I accept suggestions on how to improve it. Please contact me at ezetibaldo (at) gmail (dot) com.

Journler2Blogger 1.5

This script allows posting from Journler directly to Blogger. It relies on the same backend used by Blogger's BlogThis! bookmarklet. If you have Markdown.pl or SmartyPants.pl installed in your Scripts folder, your path, or in the support folders for BBEdit, TextMate, or TextWrangler, they will be applied to your text. Most special characters, if present, will be converted to named or numeric entity references before posting.

After showing a preview of the processed text, the script copies it to the clipboard and a page is opened in your default browser, into which you paste your entry for posting.

To install, place this file in ~/Library/Scripts/Journler/ and link it to Journler's 'Blog' button under Preferences > Advanced. In order to use Markdown.pl and SmartyPants.pl, they should be in one of the folders listed under pathAdditions. If either is not found, the script skips them silently.

Notes:
- Posts beyond a certain length will not fit in the preview dialog, although the script will still work.
- Since Journler entries' 'is blogged' attribute cannot be set using Applescript, this script instead tags the entry as 'Blogged'.
- Blogged entries' Created dates are by default reset to the current date, so they appear in the order they were posted.
- Your Blogger blog's 'Convert line breaks' setting should be off.
