| Show or hide the sidebar for all Finder windows independently of the toolbar. For example, if the front window is displaying the sidebar, running the script will cause the sidebar to be hidden for all Finder windows. Running the script again will cause the sidebar to be displayed in all Finder windows. When the script action results in displaying the sidebar, the sidebar will be given a width of 154 pixels., a fairly typical setting. This script is most useful when triggered with a keyboard command, in other words, when used in conjunction with a Macro utility. Several free macro utilities are available. But it may be useful even when triggered by making it an application and keeping it in the Dock. | ||
| Release Notes: At the end of this agglomeration of the script, in commented form, is another complete version constructed to perform the same action on the front Finder window only. This script comes in handy when triggered with a keyboard shortcut, but would probably be a waste of time when triggered any other way because it's just as easy to toggle the sidebar in the front window by double-clicking it. | ||
