This script was written for Media 100 i, a streaming media authoring and non-linear video editing system. It takes a selected range of clips in video and audio tracks, renders and exports the range to a clip in a bin, trims and deletes clips overlapping or inside the selected range, and then re-inserts the rendered clip in the range.
