| Reads Email using OS X's default speech engine. Supports reading multiple emails at once, just select several messages and launch the script. Tries to smartly parse out reply emails and only read the new content and not duplicate content. Does not handle emails well where content is within the replied text. | ||

* SUCCESS - Figured out how to launch the applescript independently. Interesting bunch of hacks required. Now entourage can be used independently while the text to speech service is running! * Bug - Path must be hardcoded now to respawn script. Workarounds welcome! "path to me" points to path to application, not script. Version 0.06: * Displays email that is being read in the dialog box... *Bug* Not perfect, if the message is really long and doesn't fit in the dialog box, the message gets clipped. Still don't have a better idea because entourage pretty much is totally unresponsive while the applescript is running. Looks like the applescript has full control of the app and you cannot use the app while the applescript is going. Looks like the only solution will be to make a helper applescript to reside in the script folder and another script that is independent of the entourage program. Hard thing is to send the variables - selected messages and such to the independent script. Version 0.05: * Fixed hearing messages with Entourage not frontmost window. Now doesn't get stuck or annoying go "bing" every 10 seconds. |
