| Select a scattered row, column or block of icons and this script will auomatically organize them, whether on the desktop or in a folder.
It keeps the present organization intact, & does not organize alphabetically unless over a user defined number of icons is selected, when it will offer to arrange alphabetically. Simply throw them within the boundaries you prefer, select them all, and run the script. |

Version 1.4 Faster Alphabetic arranging. Now arranges Icons vertically staggered if they are too close together. (you can turn this off in the script) Version 1.5 Staggering the icons introduced two errors, when arranging small groups, and horizontal single lines. Fixed. Version 1.6 Fixed problem when organizing single column Thanks to Yvan Koenig included routine to stop any open Window of Desktop being organized (cause it stuffs up the Desktop itself) I've battered and bashed the script about, and think its finally right. Please feedback/offer suggestions. |
