This script is a timed applescript that stays open where it checks the time once an hour and when it corresponds to the hour designated in the script, executes a duplicate command where a folder of files to be backed up is copied to a folder named for that day. The folder is backed up daily (from Monday to Friday). The script runs within a time range, gives a voice warning, mounts a volume, duplicates a specified folder to a folder that matches the day of the week with a timeout command, ejects the volume and quits. The script should be saved as an application and should always be running.
